Terms of service

The agreement

These Terms are between you and the operator of GuroOS. Creating an account means accepting them. If you are using GuroOS as part of your work for a school, you confirm you are permitted to keep the records you put here.

The operator’s registered name and governing jurisdiction must appear here before these Terms are published. They are not filled in yet.

Your account

An account belongs to one teacher. It is not a school system and is not designed to be shared: the audit trail, the workspace and the AI allowance are all one person’s.

Keep your credentials to yourself, and tell us at support@guro-os.com if you think someone else has used your account. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Your work stays yours

You keep every right you already had in the lesson plans, materials and records you put into GuroOS. The operator claims no ownership of them and takes only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your content, to show it back to you, and to send the part you ask about to an AI provider so a draft can be produced.

Your content is not used to train AI models and is not shared with other teachers or your school.

What the AI does, and what it does not

Everything the assistant produces is a draft. It is generated by a language model, which can be confidently wrong, out of date, or subtly unsuited to the class in front of you. Nothing is saved to your records or used in a classroom until you have reviewed it — that is not a formality, it is the design of the product, and it is your professional judgement that stands behind what you teach.

The operator does not warrant that generated material is accurate, curriculum-compliant, or fit for any particular lesson. You remain responsible for what you use.

The assistant will decline work that is not teaching work. Do not use it to process personal information beyond what your teaching requires, and do not try to get it to reveal information about another account.

Acceptable use

Do not:

• upload material you have no right to keep, or a class list for children you do not teach;
• share an account, or resell access to it;
• try to reach another teacher’s workspace, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or work around usage limits;
• use the service to produce material that is unlawful, or that would harm a learner;
• upload malware, or use the service in a way that degrades it for others.

An account may be suspended where these are broken, and you will be told why.

Subscriptions, credits and refunds

Plans, prices and what each includes are shown before you confirm, and again on the Subscription screen. Payment is taken by PayMongo. A subscription renews for the same period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

AI credits are the unit of AI work. Every generation is charged for what it actually took rather than a flat price per document, an estimate is held when the work starts and settled against the real cost when it finishes, and work that fails is refunded. Credits belong to a month: they do not accumulate and do not carry over.

Text chat is free and is not charged against credits, with a limit on how long one conversation can grow and how many turns a day one account can take — both set by the operator and both there to keep the service running, not to sell you more of it.

Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves the current period running to its end. Charges already taken are not refunded except where the law requires it or the service failed to deliver what was paid for.

Availability

GuroOS is provided as it is. The operator works to keep it available and will give notice of planned maintenance where it can, but does not promise uninterrupted service. An AI provider’s outage can stop generation while the rest of the workspace keeps working — which is why your materials can always be exported and kept on your own device.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid in the twelve months before it arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Ending the agreement

You may stop at any time: export your workspace, then ask for the account to be erased. The operator may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, or with reasonable notice if the service is discontinued — in which case you will be given time to export your work first.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may change. The effective date at the top changes with them, and material changes are sent to account holders by email before they take effect. Continuing to use GuroOS after that means accepting the new version.
